Oil on paper 8 x 11 inches.
This was a really interesting exercise to do and to see the differences that glazing can make to the finished painting.
I wasn't very happy with my painting initially; I found it "flat" and insipid. I glazed some shadow in the foreground, by the stone wall and on the underside of the tree blossoms. And added some warm light glaze to the sky and onto the sheep's backs. I think I prefer it now.

Thanks for showing this!  I have a couple paintings with a similar cool sky that might benefit from this treatment.

The glazing improved the painting!  Smiles :-)

Hi Eibhlin, thanks a lot for your comment. I am very glad you like it. It was a beautiful and inspiring place beside Fort Augustus in Scotland. It is very good to hear from you too. I noticed your "absence" on the recent Workshops and was wondering what you were up to. Your broadband problems must have you tearing your hair out; I can just imaging how frustrating it is. Good to hear the new provider makes a difference, and it will be good to see your paintings again.

Hello Carole, Thanks for your comment. I am happy that you find it more dramatic after the glazing.

Yep...much more dramatic Mario
