Good luck with the show! That is a milestone!
Do not know about thick paint and a beginner. I personally struggle with no enough paint on my brush. To go completely against it I started using palette knife. I will post some pics of that.

Hi Olga , I should add , I love thick paint and texture in paintings , not that I do it all the time.

According to JF Carlson's "Guide to Landscape Painting" (thick paint) is often the work of the beginner and that's me!

Hi Olga , I'm strictly an amatuer and have only sold a few paintings , I will have my first small showing at a small town library in November.
