SORRY, THIS EVENT IS FULL!

Join the fun of this group painting project. Paint a small section of this famous painting by John Singer Sargeant. (I'll send it to you when we're ready to start). There are 80 pieces and you'll get to paint one, which will be a fun experiment in colour and brushwork - really like painting an abstract. It'll be 10"x10", oil or acrylic.

Upload the photo of your piece when you're done (I'll tell you how) and I'll put all the pieces together to make a fantastic mosaic of this one great painting, by 80 different artists from around the world.

There are only 80 places available so sign up now before they're all gone!

You will be able to purchase a print of the finished work at the cost of production and delivery. Your name will be listed with the work online. It will also probably be published in an international art magazine. By entering the project you waive your copyright of your painting. That there is the fine print.
I currently have no further plans for the project except that I might make the print available for public purchase if there appears to be interest in it, and if all goes well I'll probably run another similar project. Flying by the seat of my pants is what it's called. Come join in, see what happens! Enjoy!

If your name is on the list on that page and you haven't uploaded (or even painted) your piece of the puzzle yet please do! We're all waiting for you! Hey, no pressure buddy.

To those of you who have been keeping an eye on the comments here or on the group painting page and you think there might be an artist who has dropped out but no one has taken it up yet, please leave a note in the comments so I can offer it to another painter. (or even take the reigns and contact the first artist to confirm, then offer it to another painter yourself, and we'll take the first person to leave a comment on the group painting page here saying 'hey I've taken piece XX and it'll be ready soon!' to be the new owner of that piece. I'm going to be out of contact for a few days so will be interested to see what has happened when I get back. Thanks everyone, great work!

Just in case you can't find it, this is what is says:

STEP 3

Submit your artwork

Submissions close at the end of the day 29 February 2014.

You will need to upload your images to your 'Photos' on this website. Here's how you do that:

NOTE: Please submit a good photo of your painting.

Sign in to thecompleteartist.ning.com (You may already be signed in.)
Click 'Photos' in the top menu.
Click the +Add button to add a photo.
Follow the instructions on that page to upload your image.
Give the image a Title.
Enter a Description including size in inches and medium. eg. 20x30" Oil on Canvas.
For the TAG enter 'GroupProject' (Capital G and P, NO spaces.) If you don't do that I won't be able to find your image!
Please also enter your piece's unique number code eg."13" into the tags so I know where to place it in the final big painting. The resource photos are labelled 'Slice-13' for example, so if that was your piece you would enter '13' as one of the tags.
Click 'Save'. It does not matter if you put the photo in an Album or not.

Comment by Riya on February 27, 2014 at 9:12: I finally finished my part, slice 43, ad uploaded it. I had some problems due to severe backpais and spend the last ten days on bed. But today I did feel good enough to make the last strokes, photo's and upload. I am lookig forward to see it on its place and the final paintinng.
