THE WRECK
This was done tonight using finger painting and the palette knife, I often have trouble deciding what I want to do so I just put on the gloves and play like a little kid in the mud., I do love the sea and always have had a fascination for pirates and the sort, , one of my favorite books as a child was masterman ready by captain Frederick Marryat. a british naval officer turned writer after he retired from the british royal navy. , as a young boy my dad would read me from his collection of books written by this naval officer and I was fascinated, so this is one of my impressionistic attempts to show the influence from that book!!
it was done in oils on a 18x24 canvas

Eugene, I'm enjoying your painting very much. You were definitely inspired from all those stories your Dad used to read you. I like all the "finger" strokes and your knife work!
