18x36 oil on gallery wrapped canvas--still needs some tweaking - especially think the wet sand needs to be made a little more irregular and perhaps brought in closer to the posts to draw the eye back to the dunes a bit more

Hi Lori. I just returned from Hawaii and catching up to everything .. Wow! .... what a nice piece this is ... great job on this Lori .. you should be pleased .. and very proud of your accomplishment. I love the contrast between the "active" foreground against the "passive" background ... the wave gives a little interest to that open area and creates a nice balance. Congratulations on a beautiful painting. :)
Thank you friends! I was taken by the drama in the contrast and with the help of comments on my previous post and tutelage of our buddy Michael who is always so generous with his knowledge, I am pleased with this painting - I did as I stated - waited a bit then went back in a tweaked a bit - I softened the edge of the left dune so the eye wouldn't stop there and made some adjustments to the water - I thought the bit behind the wave was too solid, and I thought the foam in the wave was also too solid - also added some color to the crest of the wave to break up the foam.
lovely Lori, love the warm greys
The waves are really nice, but those dunes in the front are wonderful!
