I really like this Ann, I agree about the sun and it's reflection.   Just a little irregularity fixed and you have a winner!

Thank you Jon, Joy and Glenys. I appreciate your advice and will go back in and rework that area. I will put it away for now and pick it up later when I have some time to do a fix. Great advice ! Sometimes a new look from someone that has not seen the photo is helpful.

Ann, I love the sky and how you have kept the foreground simple.  What I would question is that streak of 'orange' reflection  down the grass path.  it looks very similar to the sky colour. perhaps a warm lighter greeny colour to give the sun's reflection, spread out a bit here and there. also have a look at Richard's videos when he paints sunsets, immediately surrounding the sun it is lighter and gradually becomes stronger and cooler values. I think it's a great painting anyway.

Hi, Ann - interesting!

Is your sun a nice impasto? I would look at some other artists handling of it - it could maybe more irregular and have more of a graudated halation around it? It's maybe OK? (gives a nice bright effect!)

-  but the sun 'path'  could maybe wider (and get wider as it comes forward - perspective!) and maybe sort of get paler towards its edges? (and with sort of backlit grasses?). Sorry it's so speculative - just throwing out ideas - for spot-on precision, need Michael! Anyway, it's very nice (good format too) - just looking for killer tweaks, I guess :)

Thank you for your comment John. The area near the sun does need some attention. This is painted from a photo and the reflection of the son was orange like that but I think the photographer used a warm filter to get that look. What do you think would help ? Since you have not seen the photo, your opinion of believe-ability would help me.

Looking good, Ann - nice color and light. The sun and it's path could maybe be tweaked a bit? Nice atmosphere!
