Ok Guys I need your opinion. Still on the easel and ready for any last minute changes. I can't fix the clouds-textured to thick and dried already. This canvas paints much different than the study on arches paper. I may add more warmth to the bottom concrete and sharpen up the front edges below the people sitting directly at the front of the umbrellas with his back turned away. What do you think guys? I left out the trees over the building on the right and debating whether to add them in? Help! (did no photoshop editing-some shots of this were better than others. I took this out into the shade on a cloudy day to photograph with iphone 6.)

Yes, I guess Jeri ....  the areas between the columns I am assuming are darks ... and as darks .. they cannot be the same value as any of your lights ... as they are now.  At first I thought they were windows because of the lighter value ...  anyway, just keep in mind that .. any .. of your darks must be a darker value then any of your lights ..the value of a dark can come pretty close to the value of a light, but not surpass it .. so just use that little "rule" as a guide and go around your painting a make adjustments as needed.  You almost have this beautiful painting "nailed" ..... :))

Michael they are huge columns leading into the restaurant. People sitting in and around them like behind the guy standing up closest to the foreground. Then behind the seated people near the very back is indoor plants climbing up and a sign for the restaurant with a coffee cup on it in between the umbrellas. I simplified it as not to draw attention to those areas as they are not the main focus. The columns gradiate from very warm light to about a 7 on the value scale in the darkest area. Should I still work on that darker? I did put some of the pink reflected light into that area from the umbrellas. Or are you talking about the other area I mentioned above?

Charming!

Oops, after looking at the reference photo, I see that they are not windows .....  I see they are entrances to an alcove or something? ... anyway, portals you can walk through?   .... if that is the case, make them darker and warmer ... they are in the shadow and cannot be the same value as your sidewalk which is in the sunlight. For the pinks in sunlight on the umbrella .. all you need to do is tint whatever red you are using  ..THEN .. into that mix, add a little yellow to warm it back up ... but keep it pink .. just a more warm pink .. if that makes sense? If you put do much yellow, it will be yellow .. so be careful .. you just want to infuse a little warmth into the pink, not actually change the color.  :))

Ok, will get to work on these changes as Michael suggested. Thanks again for taking the time to help me. You guys are the best. I only wish I could meet you all. :(

The highlights on the umbrellas were a light shade of naples yellow, grumbacher red and white. I tried to keep it warm and towards the pink side of the local color of the umbrellas but it seemed to fade into the rest of the pinks. I will let it dry and put it back in more yellow. Maybe use Cad yellow light.

Thanks each of you for the very nice compliments. So appreciated. Michael-windows? Would that be the spaces between the columns on the far left building or the spaces under the umbrellas and the area that takes you to the back under that last overhang (orangey color)?

Sunlight and shadow on the palms with the lone figure is a very beautiful area. Warming up the flat plane and darkening the shadow area under the umbrellas will make that area pop also. I look forward to seeing what chnges you make per Michaels advice. Good luck with this beauty !

Looks good Jeri!!   (except for your flat plane that looks like my flat planes do) :)  I especially like the right side of the painting (looks like sunlight), and your palms!   Will wait to see how all of Michael's suggestions brighten up the left side!
