Yep, I know early Van Gogh all right!

I was thinking more that the concept/emotion resembled Vincent, more than the paint handling

Jon the painting is based on a fotograph of a famous Dutch impressionistic painter G.H. Breitner (1857-1923). Yes, the lady in the carmine dress could walk in a painting of Van Gogh in his early years . The grey tones and aerth colors are typical for that period and differ from the more colorfull impressionistic French style

Yes I agree with Jon very impressionistic, I love the muted colours, feels like winter, great figures too!
