Thank you for the feedback, Ann and Joy. These are all excellent observations. I am learning more all the time. When I rework it, or just going forward, I'll incorporate your suggestions.

I like the color and feeling of your painting. The light on your focal tree is nice. Try putting some dark shadows on your rocks  to set them down they would be a darker value even in the sun. The stream looks like it is running down hill to the front of the painting if you want it be appear flat, it would be behind the large rocks with just a little peaking out between rocks. The painting has strong diagional lines to the left. the mountain, tree line and even your orange tree follow that line. Think about adding a dark tree to the left middle to stop the movement and add balance. Your dominant orange tree could be less triangular with a branch growing out to the left. Just some ideas to think about. Color hard and soft edges are very nice.
