Hi Stephen, wow what a neat technique. I will definitely give this a try myself. Never thought of zooming in, how neat. I think that a cool subject throws a warm shadow and vice versa, but doing the zoom in of the pixels is a wonderful idea, I'm surely going to give this a go. Thanks so much for sharing such a unique idea. Never would have thought of that! Thanks so much for writing. Best regards, Kathy
I thought this was interesting...You can usually expect the color of the shadow to be rooted in the compliment of the light In the studio you might have a cool blue light and hot orange shadows. and vice versa.
I read all the comments with interest. And I also for years mixed the complimentary colour inro the shadow areas. One neat trick I picked from a past art teacher was to paint in your colour areas, and once they are dry, then glaze the shadows in over them with the complimentary colour of the light source. Automatically the base colour will glow through and hopefully it will be a 'eureka' result !!
Yes that works well doesn't it! There's more light shining through. Thanks.
