Some days things just seem to flow. I wish that would happen all the time. This little painting is 8 x 8 inches. It was one of my few sales in a show.

I hope you don't mind me posting all this. All comments welcome.
I have to say Mike that I am very impressed with your work. I think you really capture the mood with color and brushstrokes. I feel you have just the right amount of detail as well. I am a newer painter and I want to be like you when I grow up Haha
Thanks Rhonda. It was one of those days when the brush just seemed to go right for me.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your WIP process! I guess for all of us it is extremely interesting to see how other paintings evolve during the time. I thought about doing that, too, but the photos seemed good on my camera display, but not anymore on my PC.
We all know that point somewhere (a looong point) in the middle when we think "OH my...this won`t be a good one." - mostly in the end, it was a hard but joyful journey and the result is very beautiful - like yours! And we have these WIP photos to remember next time we have that "Oh nooo" feeling that everyting will be great :)
I really love that portrait. Unbelievable you started with blue. Fragile and powerful at the same time in the end. Love it, Mike!!
she is beautiful
Many thanks for the kind comments Fabia and Manneherrin. My teacher always impressed on me it was the process that mattered, or as we say of life the journey not the end. This was one of those painting which went easily and the best often do. Sometimes I've come to the point where I have to summon every bit of strength I can to continue. I think those are the times when I improve and are important as well.
