Who are your favourite 2 artists?
Living or dead? David A. Leffel (Living - amazing realism, fantastic books of which I have several - New York based) and Andrew Tischler (again living, amazing realism and local!) In the old masters, I love Rembrandt's use of light and shadow (no surprise there and something I'm trying very hard to teach myself!) and Da Vinci (of course). One can but dream to even reach a small grain of the ability that these Greats oooze in talent! :)
Do you have any goals for your painting?
I only started teaching myself two years ago after a major operation, and this is a whole new journey for me and I'm looking forward to improving on my realism in my work. At the moment (although it is getting better) I feel they are still looking a bit 'stiff' and I need to get more of the fluidity and movement of 'life' into my pictures. :)

    Mia, I just read your profile. I met David Leffel in Santa Fe last year. Lustening to him and watching him paint was quite a treat. I asked him about focus. He said "little bit of something and a whole lot of nothing". It was a great advice.
