Hi Craig, i just googled because i wasn't aware that Monet madesuch a large series of haystacks. Those rolls are everywhere and much easier to oaint than a cathedral. I'll have to do more! Thanks :-)

Hi Thomas I love it  , it is a new take on Monet's haystacks I love it ! You should give it a go at another time of day and see what shakes  out!

Thank you Mario for your compliment on this painting and on the other two! I prefer to just answer you here because this painting is my own favorite right now and describes best my observation and feel. I am not in danger to fall in love with my own work though, I spend my evening scrolling through the paintings of David Shevlino. Wow, wow, WOW!

Great lights and shadows, and nice value colors.....!

What made me stop and drive onto the field was the refection of the bales and their metallic look. In my current perception, the colors of the cylinder of the big bale i managed to paint closer to my observed colors than anything else i painted outside before. Now, one needs to be very careful to evaluate an own work or aspects of it. Maybe i see it differently with some distance, Would have been easy to improve composition, eg by connecting field and sky. The field looked like a carpet with little surface structure but those weird metallic cylinders,
I thank you for your views, although or just because i do not always have the same. You are helping me a lot and i hope and will try to give back.

Beautiful sunlight Thomas.
Little suggestion: add some texture on foreground.
Beautiful various greens!!

Great paint strokes ! Vibrant color. The hay bales need to have a texture change, they currently look like giant rolls of copper because of the reflective quality that you have painted. The size and shape of the bales is nice with each bale turned slightly different angles.

Love the light, dark, and colors. I'm not sure what the cylinders are (suspect they are hay bales). Interesting broken colors and strong brushwork.
