Yes!  You are to hard on your self!  I love this painting.  I like all the interesting diagonals although you could soften some of it a bit and I like the red building against the broken color blue sky.  And you have an passive area as well with the yacht on the right side against the very active and busy diagonal lines.

Thanks again, Sarah - yeah, like mikado sticks - that's what I was interested in - but the initial excitement changed to boredom once I was halfway through them ;D ! OK, I'll stick the guy with the hat in and leave it

I think that you are being way too hard on yourself Jon. I think that this is a strong composition.

Ta, Sarah - a bit too much maybe? - it was an experiment, in fact, and I feel it ain't working how I hoped - I'm reflecting on solutions - it needs a figure and probably a re-design, I reckon...
