Denise, I love the image you chose ....the waltz and dance ... and it made me smile looking at those chickens on the video. They are such characters.
Jane,
Yes, Holbein is a Japanese product and they use honey as a binder as do M. Graham.
What did you think of the M. Graham colours compared to Winsor and Newton in the same colour range? Were they brighter? Apparently M. Graham uses single pigment colours and no fillers and is reputed by some artist to be the best brand to use. I personally haven't used M. Graham yet. I also have Winsor and Newton paints which I do like also, but mainly use Holbein.
Thank you for telling me about the new Fabriano paper as I do believe Saunders indeed soaks up too much of the paint. You may also call me whatever you like, Pat or Patricia, either way if fine with me.... :))
Hi Jane, I was looking at this and not getting the S curve so much as more a waltz and a dance into the picture and up and back. I love the rhythm you have managed besides the light makes me happy to just keep looking. Beautifully done!
Dania, thanks ... that was the first thing that inspired me to change to a vertical format. I wanted to utilize the S curve to help the eye travel through the whole piece.
Patricia, or do you like to be called Pat?, ... I have tried Saunders, not successfully and only a couple of colors by M Graham. I seemed to need more pigment when using them but I liked the feel of the paint .. they use honey as a thinner, don't they?
Jane, I mainly use Holbein watercolour paints, and I love using them, especially their transparent range. Their colours are bright and they are easily lifted out. I use Saunders and Fabriano Artistico paper.. Have you tried M. Graham or Daniel Smith Paints??
OHHHHH ! I love this one too ! I like the way the ground planes fold into each other. It is exciting !
Thanks so much, Richard. I think I mis-labelled it and missed the entry this month but it was a challenging assignment!
Wow - very unique and beautiful. Nice job.
Thanks, Jessica!
