Wonderful work Linda.
Hi Tammy,
I haven't noticed a big difference in the drying time of Holbein oils from regular oils. White always takes longer to dry and the thicker the paint, the longer it takes to dry. Maybe talk with Dorian. Her Weber paint has a different feeling than Holbein. Regardless what you choose, it will take a while to get used to oils.
Hi Linda,
I am interested in the Holbein oils but I am wondering what is the drying time? I have only ever used acrylics and while I like them I sometimes find it hard to blend them smoothly.
Hi Dorian,
Glad to be your friend and hear your encouraging words! Yes, the water mixable oils really work for me. We are full-time RV'ers living/traveling in a 31 foot 5th wheel with 3 slides for the past couple years. I never worry about my oils destroying anything. It took me a while to get used to these heavier Holbein oils but now I'm hooked. I use Walnut oil for my medium but usually start blocking in using water.
Hi Linda
Nice to meet you and see your painting. You have done a fantastic job. Happy to see that you are using water mixable oils also. I love them because they clean up so easily. Happy painting and learning.........smiles coming your way......dor
Hi again Linda,
I am not too surprised you have been to Calgary, but Medicine Hat? That is a little unusual. Are you from Canada, or what took you to Medicine Hat? That is where my husband grew up.
Thank you Tammy for your encouraging words. I can find a lot wrong with my painting but it's nice to see what's right too! So you are from Calgary. I've enjoyed being there many times. Also Medicine Hat.
I like the vibrant colours in the foreground and your mountains are beautiful. I also like the bit of warm light in the sky. Well done!
Thanks Casey. I love color but sometimes it works against me because I make everything vibrant. This workshop is what I needed. I've been painting less than 2 years so I have a lot to learn from everyone.
I really admire your free use of color. This is beautiful.
