I love your colours too.
Thanks for the tips :)
David, I use Walnut Oil (can purchase small bottles or by a 32 oz can by M. Graham online). Sometimes I block in with water. It took me a little while to get used to Holbein but now I really love the way they work. I thinned this background down using quite a bit of walnut oil and it didn't diminish the color or effect the layers on top. Let me know how it goes...
Hi Linda. I really like green color also like everyone else has been talking about. I just recently started using the Holbein water soluble oils and trying to get used to them. Do you use their mediums as well?
So subtle, love your colours :)
Tammy, I used Phythalo Blue, Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Sienna. When I took the picture I had trouble getting the correct color to show up. I used both my brand new camera and my older one. The turquoise tone was looking more blue. So I had to put my painting next to my computer and adjust the color with my software to obtain a good match. I was recently in Hawaii and had the same problem with the turquoise color of the ocean not being right.
I like the different angle you have taken on the boat. The green colour you have used is beautiful - how did you get that?
Lovely color choices and the soft brush marks of the reflection is very appealing. :-)
This is beautiful. I love your interpretation. It also has a more mysterious feeling to it. Nice work!
Thank you Pauline. I appreciate your feedback very much.
