I have posted the revised version of this one. The glaze made it more mysterious, check it out if you want
Oh Yes, been so busy trying myself, I am just getting to view yours............I like what I see here in the rocks! I would like to see the background recede more.......dor:))
Thank you Anne and Gary. I plan to darken the left cliffs with a glaze to help with the inconsistent light that will also help with the center of interest. As advised by Stu. Thanks Stu !
I agree with Gary. I love the atmospheric feel. My only comment would be to determine a focal point that is slightly more focused and is lighter and brighter comparative to the surrounding areas. Richard has a video explaining the spotlight effect. www.livepaintinglessons.com/freelesson/spotlighteffect.php
Can`t help with much but I do like the feeling this one gives me,
Nice
I underpainted the canvas orange at the top and B sienna on the bottom. I then filled in the dark areas with blue\purple mix. The large rock formations were underpainted with purple\naples yellow mix and purple. I started with a thin paint layer and gradually built to thicker paint. I finished with palet knife highlights and very thick paint. The oranges did not photo well and are more vibrant in the painting. There are also blue grey colors in the rocks that don't show.
