Christine, it's sometimes amazing how a simple exercise can influence the working habits substantially. The brush counter i do inside with a simple still life, like a fruit or an empty vase.

Thanks for the tip about brushwork. I think I'm gonna have to give that a try. Sounds like good practice!

Thanks you Christine! I did all brushwork assignments of the virtual art academy and i am glad it is starting to show. My favorite exercise i found on dailypaintworks: the brushstroke counter. Chose a simple subject, count the number of strokes and try to keep it low.

Lovely atmospheris recession. It's hard to interpret scenes like this and and get creative liven them up (well, for me it is :D )

Another lovely scene, Thomas!  Love the beautiful colours of the fields!  Just a thought, maybe vary the shape of the trees in the pairs a little more?
