Little 8x8 daily oil painting for a group project. Our criteria was firstly the size, theme "tea" and had to include the color turquoise.
The book Letters from Our Heart - the lives of Australians through correspondence reminds me of all the letters my Poppy George sent to my Nan whilst away fighting during the two world wars and the teacup was handed down to me from Nan when she passed. Nan tended Pop's roses whenever he was posted overseas and they brought them both great joy.

What a lovely painting and the story behind it is so personal.

What a beautiful little gem !  Wonderful story behind the significance of the subject matter.  The teacup really sparkles against your background and the reflection of the lime green of the book in the saucer really glows.  Very lovely painting !
