Oil on canvas 18" x 24"
The reference photo was actually taken on safari in Africa by my photographer friend. The photo was amazing and I changed a few of the placements, but I love the story that was captured in this photo so I just had to paint it using the strokes of the brush to give the feeling of the fur and using the lighting and shadows to depict the surroundings. This was fun to paint.

WOW!!! This is sooo sweet and beautiful, you did a great job on the fur. It looks so real, it seems like the cub we see on the back, has fallen in to the water. It's fur looks wet and it's like he is seeking comfort by mam and little brother/sister. And it is just adorable how the first cub looks up at his or her mam, I love it!!! Great photo and you've made an absolutely stunning painting.
