This Painting was partially copied from a Ivan Clarke collection just for an exercise. I always am fascinated buy unusual weather. When this painting was nearly completed, I noticed a patch in the cloud and it reminded me of a small wall cloud just before the formation of a small tornado. Well, I just had to put a small funnel cloud in there! I think this added a little character to the painting. The orange hue on the back mountain is the reflected glow from the large cloud in front of it which is lit up in orange buy the rising sun. 14”x18” canvas in oil.

I must admit I saw the tornado righ away. The vast distance is just remarkable, and the colors are amazing. Exercises copying those you admire can bring the learning experince to reality. Well done. Ro
