12rx16 oil on canvas board
This is a first for me, as far as old cars/trucks. It was quite a challenge, and needs more work I see, but I learned a lot.
Critiques are welcome.

Hi Ningning, It is a true learning experience, and there is always something to learn with art.
I take the photo with my cell phone, so I will try to keep it still, to keep the focus better.
Thanks for your recomendations, I try to keep all of the comments in my mind next time around.
I also learn from other's paintings and their critiques from the other artist.
Sherry
Sherry, Congratulations for your first one!!! I enjoy your value and colour combination though the photo is a little bit blurry. Maybe, next time find something to support your camera to keep it staying still. I agree with Walda's suggestion. Before we are familiar and can calculate well those relationships of angles and distance of the lines to the different points of an subject, to draw a complicated shape like this truck in an fast way , grid is the best method. By the way, the shape of your truck is not bad at all. Only that spare tire is bit fat than it should be. I follow what Nancy mentioned to compare the portion with other parts,it will be easier to know how big it should be. See you next workshop. Happy painting!
Pauline,
You are right, now I am seeing, I forgot the concept of lost and found edges, but at least i know to try it next time. I think my edges are too sharp on the background.
This was a difficult challenge Sherry, we learn something new with every painting we complete, keep up the good work, well done you! :-}}
Hi Nancy, i guess next time around I will try to do the tires better, for some reason the tires where harder to do than any of it. Thanks for yours suggestions.
Thanks Walda for you commments. That would be a good ideal to do a smaller grid with those harder confusing areas. I will keep trying. Those tires where hard to do too.
Hi, Sherry! For your first one, I think you did very well!! I do see the mid line on the hood as too far to the right & back tire looks a little small, but just keep working with the grid. It does work. Trust it! And at first use an even smaller grid to get the details. I hope this helps!
Thanks Laura, Cristina, Robert and Susan. My husband now wants me to do his 57 Chevy car. I do love the antique cars and trucks. The grid helped a lot, but it is still off.
Very nice painted Sherry!
