Acrylic on canvas 22 X 28 inches for a friend who really liked Ningning's photo. I'm still adjusting the tree's color. I'm planning to make the trunks lighter to keep with the dreamy quality of the painting.

Hello Walda, really goog color-i am painting just now landscape and trying paint in this manner. Please correct left trunk and give friends to some leafs.
Walda, I like this one very much although it is not finished. The colour combination is very beautiful. You mentioned about the trunck colour. I understand your idea to keep the value correct for the whole painting. We have different approach. Mine is burning so need very strong value contrast. Yours is very soothing and do not need exaggerate contrast of value. But if I were you I would lighter the distance tree truncks to push them further far away. Now these two are darker than the some the trees in the front group. Maybe the shadows of the trees need to be darker a bit . The far way yellow tree has a round hole in the center to show the twigs, I would fell some colour in the hole to make it more organic shape. I love the two big trunks. Their colours and texture to me is very good. I would darker the one next to the thickest trunck and that make this group's value very naturally from dark to light. From this unfinished painting I can tell it will come out very well and your friend will be very proud of having you as a friend. Beautiful! Oh, I forgot, The yellow tree in the distance should also have some light effect and be much lighter than the yellow of the front ones. Walda, again, this is a very beautiful painting, I love it and eager to see your final version.
