I chose this scene (instead of the Arches) for study because it is one have painted several times without really analyzing it. E.g.,I have not satisfactorily resolved handling the conifers in the lower left. As the sun sets that area quickly becomes a beautiful dark blue-green blending confusingly with the background. I want to do better at pushing color, value and form beyond what I see. I will send a watercolor which I believe is a more attractive representation
