Thank you Diane and Iwan for the encouragement. I have soooo wanted this and I have to come to allow myself to experiment and discover. Richard seems to be the perfect person...I love his work and I really like his person. I came across his site last year and received his set of DVDs for my Christmas gift from my son (isn't that perfect) And this workshop with Richard and you guys is also perfect in getting me to do something. My right brain is just fighting with my right brain and it would be great if they could work together...

Janet it takes years of both pleasure and frustration to come close to paint like those we aspire to. Just remember each of us will develope our own style (we don't want all paintings to end up looking like they were painted by Richard or anyone else for that matter!!). But these excersises will give us some direction to follow in the basic ABC's of understanding like composition, colour values to gain perspective, focal points and eye movement around a painting ect ect, Each time you will pick up some direction and practice not speed makes for enjoyment pleasure and better paintings, I think your effort has great structure to build on. Keep painting and enjoying, Some will be amazing and some will suck:( My husband has burnt many a masterpiece of mine to make room in my Garage/studio:) you can only keep so many.

Thank you Iwan...yes I was stuck and afraid to go further like I had done with my other attempts. I am looking forward to seeing Richard showing us his colors. I love his work. I can only wish I could be as free and fluid as he is with his work!
