Summer Afternoon at Bullhead Flat

oil on linen panel, 8" by 10", plein air My favorite place to paint and to take visiting plein air painters to paint. It's at China Camp State Park on SF Bay. This is high tide. This painting goes with me tomorrow to Wisconsin as a gift to friends that I am staying with before my plein air festival in Mineral Point starts in 4 days.

Michael, I have not "ditched the grays" because they are one of the best ways to show off color, but since I have gone to a very limited palette, my color mixing and use of color have improved considerably. Candi, my friend is Erin Blum and she lives in Wisconsin. She is quite good at plein air watercolor. We'll see how my water colors come out. Silvana, my oils dry in a couple of days, but I don't use very thick paint and I do use an alkyd medium (Galkyd lite).

Thomas are you still taking the classes with the VAA? I keep meaning to sign up for that, or at least check into it, do you really like them, and do youfeel they are super beneficial?
