However this time round had to bow to sons wishes and JUST HAVE PLAN BLACK BACKGROUND!!! :(  Oh well no accounting for taste and it is not my Man Cave :)

Nicely drawn!!! - would it not be better to have a varied background int which the animal integrates - to avoid the cutout effect?
