The action in this painting is fantastic and the vibrant colours add very nicely to the movement. I really like your light effect as well. It's a really interesting composition.

Yes, Michael, there was some planning:-) First I searched in a database for free pictures to find the proportions of a Kingfisher with fish in its beak.The one I found was in a very brown, sad water. I did not like the colours, but I liked the circles formed when the bird left the water. So, I did some notans, learned from Richard:-), sketched the bird and played around, looseley, whith the colours. The top of the painting was still very dull, though. I red about the Kingfisher, it seems to like it in still floating rivers with trees along the banks. So there I got the idea to the stuff going in in the top. That gave me some contrasts, and helped the dead area I had up there.
