Not at all Carolyn. A couple of days in Rhode Island and then to the Smithsonian, so that my husband can go to an exhibition on inventions and I am off to the National Gallery to lament my inability to plaint like a master!!
Good girl, (laughing here) What part of the States are you visiting if you don't mind the question?
I can see I am going to have to find a place for a big red umbrella somewhere as it seems to have taken hold of your imagination{:. Tell you what I will find a place in the next painting:). Gorgeous, oh dear, now I am on the hook, will you settle for interesting? I am away (in the States) for the next week or so, so it will all have to wait for it's finishing touches. Gives me time to contemplate that red umbrella problem.
Hi Jane, I have just one suggestion...a big red beach umbrella, half way between the large tree mass and barely overlapping them....(NO! Just kidding! Only you and I know where that suggestions originated.) :) The sunset reflections and shadows from it , the trees and buildings, and the backlighting are going to be gorgeous filtering all over that pristine snow. Looking forward to seeing the finished work!
Thank you. I live with snow for so many months I have hundreds of photos to draw on, so hopefully it will not be a complete disaster. I am a great fan of the Russian painter Isaak Levitan and keep referring to his paintings to help me. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate all thoughts on my efforts. Even if one doesn't agree in the end it makes one look hard at ones work.
Cant wait to see what you do with all that snow in the sunset scene. Very nice subject.
