No I'm not the David Hastings from anywhere in Australia but am from Christchurch the shaken city in Promised land of Aotearoa New Zealand. Thank you for your kind comments, I only took up painting about fourteen months ago in my retirement and am thoroughly enjoying it.  Working on doing a painting for each of my thirteen grandchildren telling them that painters don't usually become famous till after they die and to hang onto the painting as who knows one day they may become valuable. A young grandson now has the painting of the tigers head.I particually like your portraits and I recently attempted a self portrait from a photo.  It hasn't come out too bad but it took a long time to get there.
