Hi Kenneth, Very nice to meet you. Your paintings are lovely with amazing and carefully rendered detail. I do have a question about your work. I like the use of darks that are used in most of your paintings, do you use black ? If so which one ? Or do you mix transparent hues that appear so dark ? Or something else? I plan to check in with your site occasionally to see if I can discern some secrets :D
Thank you Kenneth for all the tips! I am afraid I am doing everything wrong... The teacher from the only painting local group around where I live has left, and that is how I got into the web and found Richard's blog! That was in February this year... So, 1st point... failed... second point... I am not very good at drawing... I just try try and try until it comes out as I want it to.. Value? I follow RR guidelines and together with all the crits I try to manage and improve...! I am happy trying... and I feel I am improving. I suppose I will have to practise my drawing... so that I can be promoted to the next step! :) !!
Hi Kenneth, exquisite paintings! Welcome to the site, feel free to share your painting knowledge around here. I started this site years ago simply as my blog but it's much more of a community thing now. Thanks, Richard.
