"Kualoa Light" 11x14" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

Loved playing with the palette knife on this one yesterday and facing the challenge of all that plain green.

"Ko'Olina Colour" 16x20" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

The colour at this location was spectacular.

"Turtle Beach" 16x20" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

Beautiful contrasts at this very popular spot. Yes that's a turtle, not a rock. At another spot I saw a dog barking at a big rock on the beach, which I though was weird. Then the rock turned around and hopped back in the water.

"Laniakea" 11x14" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

I was enthralled with the shapes on this beach.

"Over Waimea" 12x12" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

After a few hours blocking this one in I was nearly ready to bin it because it seemed so pedestrian - too much like the small study I'd done previously. In despair I took to it with the palette knife and a soft brush, added a few dark accents and points of colour and hey presto, my favorite painting! Never give up!

"Pounders III" 12x24" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

Such a beautiful location, this time I couldn't resist the mountains.

"Waimea Bay" 9x12" Oil on Canvas by Richard Robinson

Ready for the big surf.

Richard - Kualoa Light is my favourite of your paintings - all of which I love but this one is so dreamy and soft I want to dream it

Richard - what awesome paintings, I particularly liked Turtle Beach. You are a master at painting moody skies:, and trees, I have a lot of trouble painting trees, (that is how I found your site, the complete artist" - going online to find sites which may help me,) I am so pleased  that I came across this programme. I have learned a lot, and have'nt painted so much in all my painting life, which has been off and on for many many years. thank you

I agree with Anne Vos. You make painting greens so easy! I find it one of the most difficult areas to deal with. Lovely work Richard....you are amazing :))

Richard, I never cease to be amazed at your skill with the brush and use of colour to define mood. Well done!

Beautiful as always. I like your greens, always difficult to paint for me. Maybe an idea for another  workshop? How to deal with greens. Thank you for the pleasure to admire your paintings.

Lovely painting. This is the first one I've seen in your series. I must admit that this type of painting never held my interest. They always look out of focus to me. I just didn't get it. This painting for some reason held my interest and I found myself wandering around the painting and enjoying it. My brain got tricked this morning I suppose!!! Carol
