How wonderful that you live on a shore line!  I bet you see a lot of really beautiful sunrises and sunsets there!  I've always wanted to live close to the water, or out in the woods somewhere.  My hubby however is a city boy.  Thank you so much for your encouraging words.  May we all continue to practice, and improve.  I love what Richard says, that each painting is a practice for the next one.

You made my day with your comment on my sunset for the workshop - I have really struggled with this assignment!  It's a totally new concept for me painting this way.

I recall talking to someone in the Catalina Society ?? who lived up north in (winter ?? month) and happened to mention we had a nice sail that weekend.  She was so sad and said they pulled the boats out in September (?) for the winter.  Living in TX has its advantages for the milder winters.  We do get "blue northers" blow in and can drop the temp from shorts weather to heavy coats in just a few hours.  Typically they are short lived and within a week or less we are back to milder weather even in January/February.

I would not want the task of maintaining a wood boat.  The teak trim on our sail boat was plenty of work for me.

It is wonderful to have a fair weather studio if even for some months out of the year.  At least you will have a place for your "stuff" and can go get what you need when you need it to bring in the house to paint in the cold, cold of winter.

I got my en plein air stuff last year for Christmas, but only started using it in the spring.  I am not too interested in going out in the cold.

Thanks Gina.  Yes, WIP helps see the steps from point A to B.

Yacht club ya say.  We had a Catalina 25 "Yacht" sailboat for 19 years and only a few years ago sold it. We raced, and treated it as our condo on the water.  Those were some good fun years.  Do you own a yacht?

Hi Gina,  Thanks for your comment on my Saving Paint blog post.  So far I am enjoying them very much.

Your gallery is very nice.  I liked the red tulips and the cute little girl sitting in the chair.
