Hi Ann. To answer you question: The only thing I changed was that I added the tree to the right and the shadows in the foreground grass ... everything else was as it was at that moment. If I had painted this in plein air (which I did not), I would have painted in the dark tree and the its shadow on the barn the first thing!! I would not care if it changed after that, because I already have it down. Also, if the shadows were strewn about, I would have to find a way to join some of them and take some out for the sake of the composition ... but always the first thing!!
Thanks Ann, Yes Patricia has been amazing. I can see all the things she's saying and am going to make a start shortly. Love this site everyone's so friendly and so inspiring.
Ann, thank you very much. I have never visited Grand Canyon . In order to get fellings and spirit of it I went to internet to find some articals and photos. I also studied Richard's work on the same scene. It helps a lot. I am so happy that I pleased you, an american girl.
Ann, I am very thanksful for your approval. I will continue work hard and be better. Always enjoy your work very much. Wait to see your work of workshop9. Li
You are very welcome Ann! I am a pharmacy graduate and I enjoy painting on my free time. The workshop sounds like a lot of fun as I also like painting with company.
Thanks for appreciating the emotion of the sketching. It's definitely something I to strive for and I'll continue to post more paintings.
Ann, Be honored to be your friend. Very appreciated your idea about face and clothing. In fact, I just remember that a painting should not be in detail for everyting or it will losethe center of interest. I have a tendency give everything same importance of details. Thank you again and I will always be alert of this matter.
