Hello Colleen! Happy to be your friend! Welcome to this site. It's an excellent and very friendly site. I am sure you will enjoy it a lot!

  • Silvana M Albano

I have just read your introduction! You have certainly arrived to the appropriate site!!!!!!!!

I love what you do with the caravan! It was and still is one of my dreams! Perhaps you should have small board so you camn make small paintings! I am saying this because it is sth I should learn... if I don't have at least 5 hours, I don't start a new painting....!!!!!

Certainly Richard's workshop will guide you. He is an excellent teacher and so are amany artists around here!!!

    Happy painting Colleen!

  • Silvana M Albano

I am glad you like it!!!! :)! I would certainly choose acrylics unless you get a medium a lot of artists use, which is for making oils to dry faster. I think Water mixable oils also dry faster than the traditional ones... I have the traditional ones and they take quite long to dry, but,... they are easier to correct!

Hope to see another painting of yours soon!!!!

    Colleen,

For all that white underground in oils and acrylics, for me  I have a nice working solution. I ground with a mixture of gesso tinted with yellow ocre and a little bit of middle read. This gives you a warm underground instead of the the very cold white.

    painting greetings

  • Olivia O'Carra

Hi Colleen your paintings are beautiful and give a real flavour of Australia.

I see you have already done two lovely paintings of this months workshop challenge.Hopefully I will get myself into  gear to join the next session.

  • Olivia O'Carra

    Many thanks Colleen.

Indeed I have a lot to learn from all the talented artists on this site.

I reproduce what is in front of  me and only make some changes for compositional needs.

I see wonderful imagination and creativity here  and want to loosen up and be more selective.

  • Jendrawan Husada

Colleen, I apologise for my tardiness in replying, I've been up to my eyebrows updating a website and have not visited this site as frequently as usual.

Wongawallan, isn't that somewhere near to Canungra?

  • Lyndon Baxter

Hi Colleen, Yes now I know where Wongawallan is, you live in a lovely part of the hinterland.

I live on the Glen Dora Estate,  McDowall for the last 8 yrs, before that 35 yrs at Everton Park so I am definitely a North-sider....born in Ipswich but grew up all over the place due to my father's occupation as an engineer in QR.

Now the website is almost complete I intend splashing a lot more paint around again.

  • Anja

Thank you Colleen for your lovely comment on my Orangutan. It is a pastel.

    Love Anja
