Thanks Pauline. I painted this using "Golden Open" acrylics. Here is a link to Erik Koeppel's video. I am not an affiliate but I learned a lot about the Hudson River School style of painting from Erik in this video
.
This is lovely Steve, is it watercolour? I'm going to look up the Hudson River School of Art!
Thanks for the comment Michael. This was from Erik's demo. I'm getting ready to try it again a little larger. I think I can do better.
Actually, this is pretty nice Steve. It caught my eye as soon as I saw the thumbnail pop up. Check out my blog: The Language of Painting. I relate how to zero in on problem areas of a painting or how to identify any weaknesses . Most of the time, it is COMPOSITION that snags us .....it really gives me fits!!! Was this from a demo painting by Erik or your own photo/plein air?
Hi Michael, yes it was all done very "thin". Actually, I believe I was not thin enough. This painting was a result of Erik Koeppel's DVD on the Hudson River School technique.
I'm impressed with your work Michael. I'm lacking something, or to be more accurate... several somethings in my landscape paintings. Your landscapes seem to have all the bases covered. Very professional.
Hi Steve. I love the Hudson River School of painters!! ...Did you do a lot of transparent washes and glazing??...just curious about the technique you used?
