9" by 12" oil on canvas panel, plein air. Painted at McNear's Beach with Laura Xu this past Saturday. This was the third storm of the past few weeks with much needed rains and beautiful clouds as the stormfront moved eastward to dump some big time snow in the Sierras.

Like the greens a lot, Stu. Don't you want to put a bit of a sheen (or some crests if it was rougher) on the water?

Nice one Stuart ! The boats and clouds are my favorites they make a nice subtle focal. I like the way that your shoreline shadows reach out into the water to move us into the painting. Your use of the new palette is great, still subtle use of greys but more variety of color also.

Wow ... Stu! It is really really great! It is another one of my favourite of yours. Your clouds are very very beautiful. I like how you did the far away hills and houses. These boats are great. A very successful plein aire painting!
