After the Rain Stopped

9" by 12" oil on canvas panel, plein air. Painted at McNear's Beach with Laura Xu this past Saturday. This was the third storm of the past few weeks with much needed rains and beautiful clouds as the stormfront moved eastward to dump some big time snow in the Sierras.

I like the way that your shoreline shadows reach out into the water to move us into the painting. Your use of the new palette is great, still subtle use of greys but more variety of color also.
