Thanks; this is part of observation skill development and it gets honed with every Plein air outing, just like painting block after block until it just seems totally natural.

The almost random but still structured features on mountains is something that keeps catching me too. Yours look pretty good!

Thanks Thomas. Those variations are something that I'm working on. These are not very well designed and almost random. They are just hue shifts that describe the form while preserving the value mass.
