Thanks Rita,
I have to correct few parts as per the Michael's critique and will see the final result. Have a good day!
George
Thank you George. I too am self taught and always continuing the learning process. I just joined the group and really love this whole concept. Meeting other artists, discussing art, and learning from each other .. can't get any better then that!! Keep the brushes wet!!!
Dear Michael, Thanks for the professional critique. This site is all about this. I accept all yours remarks and agree. As a matter of facts, we all learning day by day, work by work and we have to accept that not all of our works are perfect. I am self thought artist and learn from experience, reading, observation, etc. but much above all I learn from other artist's experience and professionalism. You are a good friend.
Love the colors in the final painting and the acrylic under painting. Good job on the glow in the sky. You have a gradation in the sky from warm to cool .. good, but dark to light? .. I'm thinking that should be reversed since it should be lighter nearer the sun? Your warm rock is not relating to the rest of your painting .. maybe some cool reflective light from the water bouncing up into it? This would tie it into everything else. Your edge of the backwash seems to be drawn in to fit around the surfboard .. try overlapping that edge with the surfboard. I like the figure coming into the painting ... the human element .. it gives a nice scale to where we are.
Looking great, George. I like the colour from the water and your mountains with the sunrise-colours glowing on them are just awesome. Well done!!!
