My painting of Kathryn Stats "Lazy Summer Day"

I purchased a DVD by artist Kathryn Stats called "Lazy Summer Day". After watching it about 4 times I gave it a try. Not bad for my level of painting... If you want to see this professionally painted take a look at her site!!!

Comment by Michael J. Severin on March 6, 2015 at 6:17: I was painting in the mountains , one day a few years back ... the Sonora Pass along Deadmans's creek. As I was painting, a car pulled over on the highway and a women got out and walked over to where I was painting .....she came over and complimented the work ..when I turned around ..I immediately recognized her .. it was KATHRYN STATS!!! ...... As a matter of fact, when she came closer to the painting, she tripped and I had to grab her before she fell flat on her face!! OF COURSE, as it always happens in cases like this, I had a dog of a painting going!!! Looking back, I guess I was kind of "star struck", and was "gushing" all over her. ...oh, well .that is what you get for being famous and surprising someone out in the middle of nowhere. I will post the painting I was doing at the time in a awhile. :))))

Almost every brush stroke has a little variation. I was pleased with my tree too and couldn't have done it on my own. Thanks Ann for commenting. I continue to look for your paintings even though I'm not as active at the moment. You continue to improve!
