First Landscape

Strive for perfection - whatever that means to you , but have fun and don't get to serious or down on yourself , paint and make yourself happy. Don't worry about opinion

Comment by Britt Greenland on March 21, 2014 at 5:45: I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but for myself I'm thankful that as I was beginning I thought I was pretty good. Although it was false confidence, it kept me sticking with it. Looking back at paintings from even 6 months ago, I now am pretty embarrassed by them. I believe that what is changing more than my skill is my vision of what a successful painting means for me.

I can, however, say that it was very motivational. I was frustrated with not understanding how to DO this painting thing. But, frustrated in a good way (if that makes sense). Heck, I'm STILL frustrated with it. And I imagine I will continue to be frustrated in some way or another for a long time. But, I also love it and am still just as determined as I was a year and a half ago. Every failure is just one step closer
