Loading this here as kind of a place marker. This is the first landscape I ever attempted to paint in October of 2012 - a year and a half ago. "Painting is easy when you don't know how, but very difficult when you do." -Edgar Degas

Hi Julia , I like it , you have some beautiful colour happening , and some great contrast with the black and white.
Strive for perfection - whatever that means to you , but have fun and don't get to serious or down on yourself , paint and make yourself happy. Don't worry about opinion
Thanks Craig
Me too, Silvana. Honestly, I laughed out loud at myself while I was painting this and after I finished. I can, however, say that it was very motivational. I was frustrated with not understanding how to DO this painting thing. But, frustrated in a good way (if that makes sense). Heck, I'm STILL frustrated with it. And I imagine I will continue to be frustrated in some way or another for a long time. But, I also love it and am still just as determined as I was a year and a half ago. Every failure is just one step closer
I always say that at this site is impossible NOT to learn!!!! But the very first painting always has this special feeling!!! It's the FIRSt and the kickoff!!! I am so glad I've found this site with such incredible people around!!!
Cool!
Isn't this a hoot? :-)
I agree with Mr. Degas!!!!!
