oil on linen panel, 9" by 12", plein air. This is one of my paintings from the Plein Air Convention in Monterey. I painted it 10 days ago from the garden at the Carmel Mission near Monterey, well worth the $9 to go through the Mission to paint in the garden. Most of the other artists just painted outside rather than pay the fee and didn't get the great sun and shadows on the walls and courtyard.

lovely plein air painting Stu, That little bit of light catching the building makes it so appealing, nice pallet too!
Can not imagine to paint this plein aire, so much detail! Very well done!
My new favorite of your paintings ! Doing a complicated structure plein air is challenging and one of your talents. I agree with all the compliments !
Yep - great notan/design = powerful work!
another very strong notan! This one caught my eye right off the bat! Your color harmonies are superb. You show a lot of restraint in the saturation of color. Something I need to work on for sure. Lovely, lovely piece!
