oil on linen panel, 9" by 12", plein air. This is one of my paintings from the Plein Air Convention in Monterey. I painted it 10 days ago from the garden at the Carmel Mission near Monterey, well worth the $9 to go through the Mission to paint in the garden. Most of the other artists just painted outside rather than pay the fee and didn't get the great sun and shadows on the walls and courtyard.

Thank you Candi and Cristina.   I have painted this mission from photos before but never plein air and never from the garden!!!  It is the second most painted mission of the 22 California missions; San Juan Capistrano is the most painted California mission.
