Thanks, Nancy. That limited palette for w/c was a real challenge, wasn't it?

Jane, you did yet another one! Good for you. This is another winner. I wish I had your talent at watercolor. I did an oil at the beginning of the month and had a little time left so I squeezed in a watercolor tonight. Boy, what a struggle! I loved reading Richard's critique of your lovely painting. His high complements are well deserved.

Saghi, Barbara, thank you.  Barbara the blue roof ended up being a last minute decision when I was glaringly aware that the red roof negated the impact of both house and tree.  Once in, I added a few more blue touches to tie it together. The burnt sienna was the only "red" that I could get to work in this limited palette exercise ... I tried a whole lot of others but they seemed to either work well with the blue or the yellow but not both or I failed to get either the rich darks or subtle greys.

I really like your choice of the burnt sienna for the red -- I would never have though of that.  Brings a whole new feel to the painting.  Also love the blue roof you placed on the house and then the blue carried throughout, sometimes only in touches -- really unites the whole.
