Oil on Canvas Panel 12" by 10" -- touch up per Lori Ippolito's suggestion. I knocked back the pinks and yellows on the tower and dome and church face by scumbling some white with green oxide over the pink and white with dioxazine purple over the yellows. This is very subtle but if you go back and forth between my two paintings you will see that desaturating my sunset colors in the distant buildings sets them back in space and ends all the competition of the tower with the poles in the near water. This is an easy 5 minute fix. I will take down the first painting in another day or two.

Wonderful render Stuart. I can see your personal style of vibrant colors in this piece. Your use of reflective light and shadow are superb. Im glad you knocked back the saturation of colors in the back ground so we can see how brilliant the foreground is. Well done.
Stuart, like the way you reversed the gondola scene and added your own spin. The poles complement the tower I the background.
LOVE these strong colors, and the way your gondola is sitting in the water! Thanks for the tip on pushing your background back
I like the drawing of the gondola, the buildings are nice and the sky is nice, the colors are lovely! I like the short side of the gondola with the light on it!
Thank you Nancy and Steinunn!
Great painting Stu, love the golden color!
