My first plein air class in Hawaii's North shore. Local artist Mark Brown gave an excellent demo...only wish I could draw better. But it was fun anyway.

Michael, I remember well...however this class was on blocking/sizing several boats into a picture. he demonstrated how to estimate sizes. I tried but it was too advanced for me. I almost didn't go the next week but I changed my attitude and glad I did. Otherwise I wouldn't have tried Fishermans Wharf. Tomorrow is an ocean scene. BTY his blocking in is somewhat like yours. But he used cad yellow light for the lights and keeps adding reds to darken the value. So it ends up a yellow and red block in.

Remember what I suggested to you before ...... paint simple subjects for right now ....go for the complex later.
