Thank you Roena! I am honored to be your friend! I have done 2 paintings in the flemish style, but not nearly as well as you do. I am still learning oils. I have been on the same quest after seeing Mark Carders work. His silver cups and julep vases/cups with the yellow roses - fantastic. There are some nicely tarnished mugs on Ebay and Etsy, but they are usually baby cups! Good thing we live in different cities -  less competition at the thrift shops!!! :-)

 I do use Carders color checker when I am stumped, or just curious to see how far off I am from actual color!  I think we could play well together!

I am enjoying your backgrounds very much.  Love the lace.  I have yet to do lace......on my to do list.

Nice painting.  Your collection or did it sell?  Harmonious use of reds and greens.  The detail in the lace is excellent.  I appreciate artists who can create quality paintings in the classical style.  I have tried a few paintings using that style and found it difficult.  Have you watched YouTube demos or studied the books by David Leffel or Juliette Aristides?
