16" by 20" oil on stretched canvas. Two oil tankers filling up at the Chevron refinery pier at Point Richmond and looking toward San Francisco. The peak on the left is Angel Island and the jutting Penninsula on the right is Tiburon. Without the fog bank, the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge would be clearly seen jutting up between Angel Island and the Tiburon Penninsula. The strait betwen them is "Racoon Straits" and I have no idea where the name comes from. Tiburon is Spanish for "shark" and the penninsula is shaped quite a bit like a sharks body. Stu

Thank you Cheryl and Jon. Remember Jon that I am not much of a colorist. Actually I have some very subtle warmer colors in the foreground, but that is pretty deep water. I do have some warm whites in the clouds. I may try and pump up the warms in the foreground a little and see how it looks; the painting is dry enough to just wipe off fresh paint with some OMS if I don't like it. I'll repost if it works. Stu

Love the atmosphere you captured!

Good subject - engages the mind - we know there's movement going on over there. It's a very cool color scheme - you didn't want some very very subtle warmer touches in the foreground water, Stu?
