Comment by Jim Haycock on October 3, 2013 at 7:23: Linda, I am not good enough to recommend any changes, but I'll point out one particular area that I REALLY like in this: it's the mixtures of warm and cool colors in the shadows of those cliffs in the background. Those colors work really well in here, and it's a fine example of what Richard has taught about putting some cool and warm color notes together.

Wow that was a privilege for you to meet Kathryn Stats...even if your painting was struggling that day, but I'm sure it wasn't a dud! How nice of her to come over and see you. Thank you Ann. The video is helping me understand color mixing colors in such a way to fit the right value. She takes her time mixing and then holding her brush up to the canvas before she applies the paint. I was amazed how many different colors she made from each hue. The video doesn't give a picture to print but I scanned the little one on the cover to have in front of me. I love her paintings!

I am also interested in Kathryn S video but I haven't purchased it yet. Yours is so nice that it makes me want to try it.
